Hi, Just wanted to share my torn mantle story with you all. Well I'm not sure how it happened but I noticed my young fulica was in a bad way... I scoured the internet for advice and asked a few people, to be honest it didn't look great but I wasn't about to give up! I put Olivia in a low cricket tub so she couldn't climb, I put the tub in her big tank to keep the temp the same. Then I kept her moist and held her often to encourage her out of her shell to eat. For about a week she wasn't intereted in food but then I had a result and she started scoffing, slowly but surely. I kept her in the tub for about 3 weeks in total (I believe it can take longer though) then one morning I got up and found she'd managed to push the lid off and was happily climbing! She wasn't quite 100% but I felt bad about the solitary confinement so I alternated her with free and captive days. I know it was probably best to keep her prisoner but like I said I felt sorry for her! I did this for a week. And I am pleased to say that she made a full recovery! Here she is with her sister, Paige
