Firstly, have a read here if this is your first snail: www.snailsandtails.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=care&action=display&thread=22Right, so tigers. They are the biggest land snails on earth, and are matched only by the Marginata v. ovum for weight. Tigers are spread across quite a large part of Africa, around the coastal regions, and are found in the hottest areas, such as Ghana. They are also known as the giant Ghana snail. And guess what? In Ghana they are considered a delicacy. Anyway, keeping them as pets. Temperature: These guys like it hot. Hotter than any of my other snails I've kept. Day time highs of 30*C are ideal, with a drop into 27*C at night. Feeding: Quite fussy sometimes. Mine would only eat leafy greens when I first got them however now they are ok with most things, but still prefer the greens. Breeding: When they do, they can lay many hundreds of eggs. However they are one of the trickier species to breed, and often will not play ball at all. They are very specific about conditions before you'll get them to do the deed it would seem. However every year more people master breeding Tigers and they are rapidly becoming more common, so it is perfectly possible to do General behavior: This of course is entirely based on what I have observed. However I have noticed they are not active at all during the day, and tend towards burrowing quite deeply to escape the daylight. However at night they become very active and are big eaters while they are up and about. Any questions, shout

Can i add to this please, I had 2 adult pairs of tigers and from the 2 pairs i got 6 batches of eggs in 6 months my temps were a little different but not by much through the day I had them at 26 at night dropped to 19 and they did very well for me they also like it alot wetter than most species although mine lived along side my fulica without problems. None of the day time visiors knew I had tigers as they were always burried in the coir till dusk. These snails can be very hard to keep as a few people have found out, Not really a novices snail unless you can ensure you can meet their requierments. I hope you dont mind my input?

So yeah, very high humidity works well for them too.
